Golder has a new opportunity for an Environmental Technician to join our Mt. Laurel, NJ office on a full-time basis. This entry-level position provides an opportunity to join a fast-paced team that provides solutions on environmental site remediation projects. The work entails a variety of outdoor “hands-on” activities, with a need to carefully follow instructions, document activities, and at times requires problem solving and proactive communication.
Responsibilities of the role will include:
Engaging in a team environment, working closely with Project Managers and co-workers to complete work programs
Participating in range of field programs, including the collection, handling, and shipment of samples of various environmental media (e.g., groundwater, soil, sediment, soil vapor, indoor air)
Safely performing work, both in the field and office
Handling equipment, including maintenance, calibration to operational and regulatory requirements, and occasionally carrying loads of approximately 50lbs
Operating field vehicles on behalf of the company
Documenting field activities (e.g., field forms, field notebooks, daily reports)
Compiling field and analytical data
Contributing to environmental monitoring and technical reports
Communicating site conditions, observations, and activities with project and task managers
The successful candidate will possess:
High school diploma or Associates degree
Willingness to work in variable climatic conditions, while traveling away from home (travel could be up to 75%) sometimes at remote locations
Strong attention to detail; accuracy is essential
Ability to use a computer, including Microsoft Office (i.e., Outlook, Excel, Word)
Understanding of the importance of health & safety as a top priority and an enthusiasm to participate in Golder’s associated programs
OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER and 10-hour construction training are a plus
