Golder has a new opportunity for an experienced Remediation Project Engineer to join our Mt. Laurel, NJ office on a full-time basis. This position provides an opportunity to join a fast-paced team who provide solutions on environmental site remediation projects. The work entails a variety of field and office-related activities, with a need to carefully follow instructions, document activities, effectively communicate, and promote our health and safety culture.
Responsibilitiesof the role will include:
Support and manage environmental remediation projects, with an emphasison evaluation, design, construction, operation, maintenance, and monitoring ofenvironmental remediation systems and strategies
Prepare and review technical documents prepared by junior staff,including design reports, engineering drawings, specifications, work plans,calculations, permit applications, and cost estimates
Conduct and manage the identification, evaluation, and selectionequipment and materials for environmental remediation systems, including tanks,pumps, piping, valves, monitoring instruments, control systems, and treatmentequipment
Conduct and manage field assignments such as site reconnaissance,engineering data collection and measurements, operation and maintenance ofenvironmental remediation systems, monitoring and documenting system data andconditions, collection of environmental samples, and responding to /troubleshooting abnormal system conditions
Prepare and review environmental monitoring and technical reports,including data evaluation, trend analysis, preparation of report narratives,tables, figures, and supporting documentation
Communicate and coordinate with subcontractors and vendors, includingrequesting and evaluating proposals, preparing agreements and work orders,scheduling, managing, and documenting work, and managing task budgets
Provide engineering support on construction projects, includingconstruction quality assurance monitoring, documentation of constructionprogress, review of contractor submittals, and evaluation of contractorrequests for information
Interact with clients and regulators, including preparation of andparticipation in meetings, preparation of progress reports, proposals, andother correspondence, responding to client requests, and maintaining positiverelationships
Handling equipment, including maintenance, calibration to operationaland regulatory requirements, and ability to lift and move a minimum of 50pounds without assistance
Safely performing work, both in the field and office
Operating field vehicles safely on behalf of the company
Project assignments may include local and national travel with possibleshort-term assignments at project sites
Thesuccessful candidate will possess:
Bachelor’s degree in chemical, environmental, or mechanical engineeringwith preferential consideration for candidates with a post-graduate degree inengineering
Five to eight years’ relevant experience, with strong preference forexperience on environmental remediation or process engineering projects
Professional Engineering and/or Treatment System Operators license orthe ability to obtain a license within one year
40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER and 8-hour refresher (as applicable) is requiredfor site work; there is preferential consideration for candidates with thistraining
Good verbal and written communication skills combined with stronganalytical and computational abilities, leadership skills, and a positiveattitude
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office; preference forexperience with AutoCAD and other engineering software
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
A willingness to perform a variety of assignments on short notice, andif needed on weekends and holidays
Ability to work outdoors in all seasonal weather conditions
Ability to complete field events and travel up to 25% of schedule forlocal and out-of-town project opportunities
