Golder Associates Senior Environmental Consultant in Naas, Ireland

Golder has a new opportunity for a Senior Environmental Consultant to join our environmental management team on a full-time permanent basis based in our Naas office.

Key duties and responsibilities include:

  • Delivery of Environmental Impact Assessment Reports

  • Taking ownership of projects from inception to completion and providing regular project updates to the environmental team director and clients;

  • Leading and managing multidisciplinary teams as needed on EIA projects;

  • Technical lead in a discipline as related to EIA an advantage e.g. ecology, noise or air quality;

  • Preparing planning applications, licences, permits and annual environmental reports e.g. waste licences;

  • Knowledge of the regulatory environment in Ireland including planning and permitting/licensing requirements;

  • Prioritising projects while balancing client expectations, available staff resources and project deadlines;

  • Proposal preparation, and identifying follow on work opportunities with existing clients and work to develop opportunities broadening Golder’s client base;

  • Adhere to the Golder Code of Conduct at all times and raise concerns as appropriate. Regularly familiarise self with the Code of Conduct and how it is applicable to own role/position within the organisation; and

  • Ensure actions and behaviours are aligned to Golder’s Equality Policy at all times.

kills, Qualifications, and Experience:

  • Qualified to at least BSc level (ideally MSc level) within Environmental Science or a related discipline;

  • 6 years post qualification in relevant environmental related projects;

  • Experienced in the coordination and management of EIA;

  • Experienced in preparation of technical chapter(s) of EIARs an advantage;

  • Experienced in the preparation of environmental permits e.g. waste licences;

  • Experienced in stakeholder engagement and liaison/consultation with statutory bodies such as the EPA, local authorities and An Bord Pleanala;

  • Coordination of sub-consultants and sub-contractors contributing to projects;

  • Experience in preparation of ESIA not a necessity but will elevate potential candidates;

  • Excellent project management skills;

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written (in English);

  • Ability to work independently as needed and have a solutions driven focus delivering for clients; and

  • Full driving licence.

The role will be office based and the candidate must be prepared to travel. Current Covid-19 regulations apply to all travel. Work from home and flexible working arrangements are available at Golder.
