Golder is seeking an Environmental Project Manager to work in our Newark, New Jersey office. From this location, our team provides services to US and international clients in the manufacturing, infrastructure, and other sectors. This position offers an opportunity to join a fast-paced team who provides solutions to challenges on environmental site remediation projects.
The successful candidate will be a self-starter, require little supervision, and be capable of integrating and managing project teams. Typical projects are focused on remedial investigation, design, and action under varying regulatory programs (state and USEPA led) and include project management, preparation and implementation of work plans, data interpretation, and detailed reporting. Preferably, the candidate will have a strong working knowledge of New Jersey regulations and guidance, and optimally be a current Licensed Site Remediation Professional. Responsibilities of the role will include:
Manage and provide technical expertise on site investigation and remediation projects with complex technical and regulatory issues
Oversee multiple projects within scope/schedule/budget expectations and ensure quality standards on project deliverables
Prepare technical proposals (scope, schedule, budget) and support business development team efforts
Review and write technical reports with senior guidance and review
Coordinate and provide occasional direct oversight of Golder field teams and subcontractors (e.g., laboratories, drillers)
Appropriately delegate project assignments to project teams and mentor junior staff
Support Partners, account leads, and other senior personnel on project execution and account maintenance
Develop and expand client accounts via high-quality, dependable project delivery
Participate in the continued growth and development of the consulting practice in the Northeast US and beyond
Safely perform work in the office and field; fieldwork may occur in all seasonal weather conditions, using equipment and operating vehicles on behalf of the company
Travel as required for project needs and business development purposes
Bachelor of Science degree in geology, engineering, or other science related field
Minimum 12 years relevant work experience
Computer skills and experience with industry standard commercial computer software including Microsoft Office
Excellent verbal with strong writing and organizational skills, a positive attitude, and ability to work both independently and within groups
Understanding the importance of health & safety as a top priority and an enthusiasm to participate in Golder’s associated programs
Master’s degree in geology, engineering, or other science related field
Professional license (e.g., PG, PE, LSRP)
Strong technical skills in scoping environmental investigations, and with collecting, analyzing, and interpreting environmental data
Experience with project management tasks and tools including preparation of work plans; budget tracking/reporting; and project schedule tracking
Experience with subcontractor agreements, coordination, and oversight
40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER and 8-hour refresher (as applicable) are required for site work
