Golder is seeking an Environmental Project Manager to work in our Mt. Laurel , New Jersey office; Newark, NJ and Bristol, PA are additional potential offices. From this location, our team provides services to US and international clients in the manufacturing, infrastructure, and other sectors. This position offers an opportunity to join a fast-paced team who provides solutions to challenges on environmental site remediation projects.
The successful candidate will be a self-starter, require little supervision, and be capable of integrating and managing project teams. Typical projects are focused on remedial investigation, design, and action under varying regulatory programs (state and USEPA led) and include project management, preparation and implementation of work plans, data interpretation, and detailed reporting. Preferably, the candidate will have a strong working knowledge of New Jersey regulations and guidance. Responsibilities of the role will include:
Perform day-to-day management of environmental site investigations and remediation projects including sampling programs for groundwater, soil, and surface water
Develop scopes of work and execute projects consistent with NJDEP regulations and guidance or with other state/federal requirements
Coordinate and provide as-needed field oversight of Golder field teams and subcontractors
Perform work consistent with internal and external technical standards
Author technical reports with senior guidance and review
Appropriately delegate project assignments to project teams and mentor junior staff
Provide project updates on scope/budget schedule to senior staff and client in collaboration with the project team
Support practice leaders, account leads, and other senior personnel on project execution and account maintenance
Participate in the continued growth and development of the consulting practice in the Northeast US and beyond
Safely perform work in the office and field; fieldwork may occur in all seasonal weather conditions, using equipment and operating vehicles on behalf of the company
Travel as required for project and business development needs
Bachelor of Science degree in hydrogeology, geology, engineering, or other science field
Minimum seven (7) years' relevant work experience
Computer skills and experience with industry standard commercial computer software including Microsoft Office
Excellent verbal with strong writing and organizational skills, a positive attitude, and ability to work both independently and within groups
Understanding the importance of health & safety as a top priority and an enthusiasm to participate in Golder’s associated programs
Master’s degree in hydrogeology, geology, engineering, or other science related field
Professional license (e.g., PG, PE, LSRP)
Strong technical skills in scoping environmental investigations, and with collecting, analyzing, and interpreting environmental data
Experience with project management tasks and tools including preparation of work plans; budget tracking/reporting; and project schedule tracking
Experience with subcontractor agreements, coordination, and oversight
40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER and 8-hour refresher (as applicable) are required for site work
