Golder has a new full-time opportunity within our Global Mining team for a Principal Mine/Asset Closure Specialist, based in Newcastle. This will include working closely with our multidisciplinary teams of scientists and engineers to develop and deliver integrated mine closure solutions. This leadership role will grow our business in line with our business plan and strategy as a key member of the Golder Mining Group.
Key duties and responsibilities will include:
Contributing and implementing our mine closure strategy;
Providing technical input and project direction, with a key focus on mine closure planning;
Providing Project and Technical Direction which includes overseeing and coordinating large, multi-disciplinary mine closure projects; and
Strengthen the market position by proactively seeking internal and external opportunities.
Skills and Qualifications
Appropriate qualifications with a Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent, with coupled with previous consulting experience will be highly regarded;
Substantial experience in mine rehabilitation and mine closure planning;
A proven track record in the delivery of large, multi-disciplinary projects on-time and on-budget; and
Excellent interpersonal skills with verbal and written communication skills.
