Golder has a new opportunity for an EU Assistant Management Accountant to join our Finance team on a full-time basis based in Nottingham.
The EU Assistant Management Accountant is a Level B (Business Operations) position reporting directly to the EU Management Accountant. The focus of this role is to be responsible for a proportion of the billing for the UK and Ireland Companies and to provide accounting support and administration for project delivery in Europe. The EU Assistant Management Accountant is a member of the Golder Associates Project Accounting Team.
Key duties and responsibilities include:
Establish and maintain an accurate record of project initiation forms related to projects opening / changing / closing.
Interact with Project Managers (PMs) to ensure the project documentation or information is accurate and complete.
Manage the entire billing process from pre-bill to the final invoice being issued to the client.
Ensure that a project’s entire transactional record for revenue, billings and effort is maintained in an accurate, complete and current manner for its full life cycle.
Ensure that all transactions such as budget changes or effort at completion changes are properly supported and configured with appropriate documentary evidence for easy access and retrieval.
Ensure that project budgets are accurately maintained into the system.
Ensure that effort at completion is accurately maintained into the system.
Assisting with the project variances on a monthly basis.
Ensure invoice formats and other billing requirements meet Golder and the Client’s needs and takes care of client-specific billing schedules.Work closely with Project Managers and the EU Management Accountant to ensure Work in Progress (WIP) is invoiced as quickly as possible.
Manage and perform Credit Control responsibilities as efficiently as possible for Ireland and 50% of the UK ledger.
Work with all staff to ensure that timesheets are submitted on a timely basis.
Provide support and assistance to the Project Managers on any Project Accounting queries.
Covering and assisting with the production of the chargeability information on a weekly basis.
Fully comply with the correct application of all relevant business rules, Golder policy and other applicable international accounting standards as they relate to revenue recognition, the carrying value of assets, trade debt collections and work in progress.
Fully comply with the local tax rules relating to tax on invoices, in particular the invoices including VAT.
Business related travel to other Golder Offices – Frequency of which will be determined by business need.
Assisting with preparing the accounts for external audit at the end of the year.

Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:
Ideally qualified to Degree level within a numerical based subject e.g. Accounting & Finance, Business Studies, Economics, Mathematics
1 years experience in project or management accounting preferably for a medium to large size organisation.
Pro-active approach to improving processes and efficiency
Ability to manage professional relationships;
Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
Strong interpersonal and influencing skills.
Strong numeracy skills;
Good organisational and time management ability;
Ability to work effectively and collaboratively within a team environment;
Proficient user of Microsoft Office products (e.g. Outlook, Word, Excel);
Computer literate with experience using Microsoft Office products.
Full driving licence; and
Ability and willingness to travel.
- Transactional experience in the BST tool.
