Golder Associates Risk Assessment Specialist (junior) in OTTAWA, Ontario
Golder Associates is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Risk Assessment Specialist (junior) to join our Contaminated Lands Group in Ottawa and Halifax . The successful candidate will work within a team of intermediate and senior team members, with the opportunity to assume increasing autonomy and responsibility.
Responsibilities will include:
Being responsible for product quality control with adherence to company standards;
Assisting with human health and ecological risk assessments and site assessments;
Assisting with data management, analysis and interpretation;
Assisting with report and proposal preparation;
Successfully interacting within larger teams, particularly contaminated site specialists and biologists;
Developing your technical skills and sharing these skills with other members of your team;
Participating in business development initiatives appropriate to your level;
Participating in a team environment; and,
Learning about the consulting business.
The successful candidate will possess the following:
Masters Degree in Environmental or Biological Sciences, Toxicology, Environmental Engineering or related field;
Familiarity in environmental toxicology, biology, risk assessment or related discipline;
Familiarity with environmental sampling methods;
Knowledge of contaminated site risk assessment guidelines;
Strong written and verbal communication skills;
Ability to use spreadsheets skillfully required;
Knowledge of statistics an asset;
Ability to communicate in French an asset;
Ability to work in a team environment; and,
Strong interpersonal, communication and innovative thinking skills are essential.
