Golder has a new opportunity for a mid-level EnvironmentalField Technician to work out of our Redmond, Washington office . The candidate will provide support on environmental projects that involve field studies, data collection and reporting.
Responsibilities will include the following:
Collection of environmental field samples from soil,groundwater, air, surface water, and sediment media;
Coordination with testing laboratories;
Preparation and operation of equipment in the field;
Equipment calibration, maintenance and repair;
Interacting with subcontractors, public, and clients;
Working outdoors in all weather conditions;
Compliance with corporate Health & Safety and OSHA requirements;
Preparing daily field reports and field sampling logs;
Assisting with tabulation, interpretation, andreporting of field data.
Supervising and geologic logging of soils during thedrilling and installation of groundwater monitoring wells.
The preferred candidate will possessthe following skills and attributes:
A BS in physical science, geology, hydrogeology, orrelated field strongly preferred;
Minimal 2 years of experience is required;
Experience supervising the drilling and installation ofgroundwater monitoring wells preferred;
A proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel andOutlook is required;
Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
Commitment to working safely and adhering to health andsafety protocols
Current OSHA 40-Hour Hazardous Waste Operations andEmergency Response (HAZWOPER) training preferred;
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. ofequipment and supplies unassisted;
This position requires standing, walking, bending, andlifting for extended periods of time across varying terrains in remotelocations in all weather conditions (rain, snow, heat, etc.);
Ability and willingness to travel;
Should be mechanically inclined and self-motivated;
