Golder Associates Environmental Technician in REDMOND, Washington

Golder has a new opportunity for an entry-level Environmental Field Technician for work at field locations in Northeast Washington . This position would require the hired employee to live within a 1-hour drive of Republic Washington or be based in our Redmond office with travel to and from the Republic area on a regular basis. The candidate will provide support on environmental projects that involve field studies, data collection and reporting.

Responsibilities will include the following:

  • Collectionof environmental field samples from soil, groundwater, air, surface water,and sediment media;

  • Preparationand operation of equipment in the field;

  • Equipmentcalibration, maintenance and repair;

  • Interactingwith subcontractors, public, and clients;

  • Workingoutdoors in all weather conditions;

  • Compliancewith corporate Health & Safety and MSHA requirements;

  • Preparingdaily field reports and field sampling logs;

  • Assistingwith tabulation, interpretation, and reporting of field data.

The preferred candidate will possessthe following skills and attributes:

  • ABS in physical science, geology, hydrogeology, or related field stronglypreferred;

  • Minimalexperience is required, however, applicants with a previousinternship/related work or 1 year of experience preferred

  • Aproficiency in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook is required;

  • Excellentverbal and written communication skills;

  • Commitmentto working safely and adhering to health and safety protocols

  • MSHAcertification preferred;

  • Mustbe able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. of equipment and suppliesunassisted;

  • Thisposition requires standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extendedperiods of time across varying terrains in remote locations in all weatherconditions (rain, snow, heat, etc.);

  • Shouldbe mechanically inclined and self-motivated;

  • Thisposition will be located in Northeast Washington. Local candidatespreferred, but it is possible to be based in our Redmond office withtravel to and from the Republic area on a regular basis.
