Golder is seeking a mid-level Hydrogeologist to join our Pacific Northwest Water Resources group on a full time basis in our Redmond, WA office, who can direct field work, perform technical assessments, prepare technical reports, manage projects, and support proposal efforts for a variety of environmental, mining and water resources clients. Projects include water supply development, water system engineering, soil and groundwater remediation, aquifer storage and recovery, well rehabilitation, storm water management, water reuse, mine water management, numerical flow and water quality modeling, water rights evaluations, watershed studies, environmental permitting, and hydraulic analysis of river systems.
As a key member of our team, you will support existing water resource and environmental projects using a strong foundation in quantitative hydrogeology.
Responsibilities of the role will include:
Conducting and leading field work and field data collection, documentation, and data evaluation.
Providing technical expertise and/or support for geologic and hydrogeologic investigations, hydrogeologic testing, geologic and hydrogeologic visualization, analytical and numerical groundwater flow modeling, contaminated site investigation and characterization, and development of conceptual site models.
Interpretation of hydrogeologic and hydrologic data using data manipulation tools (such as Excel and Access).
Working with engineers, GIS specialists, and other environmental experts to contribute to larger multidisciplinary projects.
Use knowledge of regulatory requirements to deliver technically appropriate work necessary to successfully complete project work.
The successful candidate will have a background in:
MS in Hydrogeology, Geology (with hydrogeology focus), or Civil/Environmental Engineering (with hydrogeology focus)
5 to 10 years of experience preferably in the Pacific Northwest but not required, in one of more of the following areas: water resource investigations and water rights, mine hydrology and geochemistry, stormwater management, environmental site assessments, and RI/FS projects
Technical consulting experience in several of the following areas: groundwater supply development, aquifer storage and recovery, groundwater remediation, dewatering evaluations, water reuse, monitoring and production well design, well rehabilitation, well hydraulics, water right permitting, hydrology and hydraulics, numerical flow modeling and contaminant transport, surface water modeling, water quality modeling, GIS applications for water resources, in-stream flow evaluation, groundwater/surface water interaction, mine permitting, and environmental permitting.
Excellent and demonstrated verbal and written communications skills, with ability to effectively communicate technical information to clients, regulators, and colleagues.
The ability and willingness to travel locally and internationally.
An appreciation for high quality, client focused work products is essential.

Strong interpersonal and critical thinking skills.
Exhibit strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
Professional registration in the applicant’s discipline in the State of Washington or Oregon
Candidate must be willing to operate and maintain field testing and monitoring equipment, be able to lift 50 pounds and be willing to travel.
Experience working in an environmental or engineering consulting firm.
Experience in numerical groundwater modeling, such as MODFLOW (text files and either Groundwater Vistas, GMS, or Visual MODFLOW) and FEFLOW
CADD design experience
Certified water right examiner in WA and/or OR
Current Health and Safety training, such as OSHA HAZWOPER or MSHA preferred.
