Golder is seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated mid-level Geochemist to join our Redmond, Washington office. The selected candidate will support geochemistry and hydrogeochemistry related projects and proposal efforts with an emphasis on the mining industry. Projects typically involve permitting, baseline studies, operational support, and reclamation/remediation.

Responsibilities of the role will include:
Provide support for geochemical projects, including permitting, baseline studies, operational support, and reclamation/remediation, in particular for the mining industry, but also for the oil and gas, power, and solid waste industries
Design and conduct geochemical characterization studies (soil, mine wastes, and ore) in the field and laboratory, associated groundwater and surface water sampling, and other environmental investigations
Collect, validate, manage, analyze and interpret geochemical and water quality data using a variety of data management and statistical tools
Perform water quality and geochemical modeling
Prepare reports
Prepare proposals in response to client needs and other business development activities
Manage projects according to client-approved scopes of work, and deliver high-quality reports on time and within budget

Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Geochemistry, or related field, with a strong quantitative background and mining-related emphasis
At least three years’ relevant work experience
Comprehensive understanding of geology and chemistry
Strong data manipulation abilities, including experience with data management tools (e.g., Excel, EQuIS, Access, Python, R)
Experience in geochemical and water quality modeling using common codes (e.g., PHREEQC, Geochemist’s Workbench, MIN3P)
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Strong relational skills within the team environment and with clients
Willingness to travel to domestic and international project locations
Desired:
Graduate degree in Geochemistry
Academic knowledge of geology, geochemistry, surface water and groundwater interactions, hydrology, water treatment and physical and chemical hydrogeology
Experience in field data collection
Experience in laboratory analysis
Experience in GIS data manipulation and processing using common software (Arc Map, QGIS)
Experience with data validation techniques for environmental data
Foreign language skills, in particular Spanish
MSHA 24hr level qualified or recertification eligible
