Golder has a new opportunity fo r an Environmental Chemist to work out of our Redmond, Washington office.
Responsibilities of the role will include:
Coordinating sample analyses with laboratories;
Performing data validation of analytical results;
Preparing sampling and analysis plans (SAPs) and quality assurance project plans (QAPPs);
Providing database support and data management for a variety of projects;
Assisting in report writing and preparation; and assisting with general field sampling (soil, groundwater surface water, and air).
· Minimum BS degree in chemistry or environmental sciences.
· A minimum of 4 years of experience in:
o Laboratory analysis of environmental samples – all media
o Preparation of SAPs and QAPPs
o Completing validation of analytical data packages in accordance with USEPA National Functional Guidelines
o Analysis, formatting, import and export of environmental chemical analysis data
· Experience using MS Access and/or other database programs
o Creating SQL queries of moderate complexity and ability to prepare custom data reports
o Development of project databases
o Using commercially available and/or custom code to build report tables, figures, or other data visualization products.
· Strong oral and written communication skills
· Ability to plan and safely execute field programs with knowledge of proper sampling techniques
o Sample coordination with laboratories – bottle ordering, analytical methods and completion of chain-of-custody forms
· Data organization, management and analysis (including basic statistics).
· Access, Excel and Word proficiency
The preferred candidate will possess:
Experience using EQuIS Data Management Software
Coding skills in R, Python, etc.
Geochemistry coursework or experience
Current HAZWOPER Certification
