Golder has a new opportunity for a Contaminated LandManagement Consultant (Senior Scientist or Engineer) to join our Contaminated Sites team based in Melbourne.
Key duties and responsibilities include:
Ensure Golder's health andsafety culture is upheld and demonstrate commitment to Golder'senvironment and sustainability standards
Plan and/orperformenvironmental assessments including Preliminary and Detailed SiteInvestigations,impact assessments, environmental hazard identification and/or riskassessment, investigation of soil and groundwater quality
Conduct data management,interpretation and reporting for phased environmental site assessments,contaminant assessments, and remediation
Conduct project management of smallto medium sized contaminated sites projects or task management withinlarger scale projects
Manage the overall delivery ofprojects on or ahead of time, including actively working withproject staff to manage schedule, costs, revenue, risks and variations
Technical report writing andcontribution to proposals and deliverables
Supervise junior professional staff and direct contractors includingdrillers, surveyors, remediation / demolition contractors etc on site
Provide technical direction andmentoring,training andtransfer of knowledgeto junior employees
Liaise with specialists from otherdisciplines within Golder
Carry out tasks as assignedby varying Senior Project Managers and Project Directors.
Skills,Qualifications, and Experience
A bachelor's degree orhigher in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or related discipline.
Certified EnvironmentalPractitioner (CEnvP), or working towards.
Understanding of regulationsand guidelines applicable to contaminated sites assessment inVictoria.
Proficient projectmanagement skills including budgeting and cost control.
Good time management skillsand the ability to multi-task and prioritise.
Ability to work with avariety of environmental sampling devices and field equipment
Strong writing skills.
Excellent interpersonal andverbal communication skills.
Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
Ability to workindependently and within a team environment.
