Golder has a new opportunity for a Health, Safety, Security and Environmental (HSSE) Coordinator * to* join our Team based in Melbourne on a full-time basis. You will be working on a variety of civil infrastructure projects in Melbourne and across Victoria. The HSSE Coordinator is accountable for the practical implementation of HSSE strategies into the operational work within their scope of authority. This role supports local strategic planning and is accountable for the effective implementation of workplans, systems and processes and is responsible for maintaining compliance with local HSSE legislation.

Key duties and responsibilities will include

The HSSE Co-Ordinator is responsible for providing advice and support to assist with the effective management of HSSE implementation on a major construction project. The HSSE Co-Ordinator this role is responsible for:

  • Provide HSSE advice and support to internal stakeholders to facilitate successful planning and implementation of health, safety, and environment practices. This may include but is not limited to:

  • Review and research HSSE requirements and provide advice and support to PM's in project planning

  • Review of HSSE Plans and Work Method Statements

  • Ensure compliance to HSSE Management Systems

  • Assist Project Managers with client HSSE reporting requirements.

  • Participate in client or external HSSE audits as required.

  • Assist with the delivery of health and safety training.

  • Assist with reporting, investigating, and closing out significant near misses and incidents.

  • Assist with HSSE administration in line with project requirements.

  • Other HSSE related activities as required.

Skills, Qualifications, and Experience

  • Proficient Microsoft Office skills

  • Qualifications in Health and Safety or Environment (or equivalent) or previous relevant experience in a similar health and safety or environment role,

  • ICAM - Incident Investigation Training (Desired)

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (Desired)

  • Knowledge of applicable Health and Safety or Environmental legislation.

  • Proven problem solving/trouble shooting capabilities.

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
