We are seeking to appoint a Principal Environmental Consultant: Mining and Extractive Industries (Consents & Statutory), with consulting experience specifically relational to Extractive Industry (Mining). You will have a range of expertise and skills in advising our clients on a diverse range of technical matters in the fast-tracking of gaining consents and approvals from government in development applications. Your experience in sectors such as Environmental, Urban Planning and Extractive Industry would be well regarded along with excellent engagement skills with clients and government associated with environmental and planning approvals in mining or quarry production or similar large scale industrial operations.
Develop new business opportunities and focus on expanding opportunities and relationships with key clients to provide multi-disciplinary technical service offerings, particularly within the quarrying and local mining markets.
Manage and undertake Planning and Environmental assessments, Planning and Environmental approvals, permitting and compliance for clients’ projects.
Manage complex planning, environmental and statutory approvals including coordinating internal and external specialists to deliver successful outcomes for clients.
Lead negotiations on behalf of the client with Regulatory Authorities including Councils and agencies.
Strengthen Golder’s environmental and planning services through proactive business development activities and be recognised as a leading expert in the planning / approvals / permitting area.
Guide, participate in and support stakeholder engagement activities.
Knowledge and understanding of environmental planning, permitting and regulatory approvals (particularly DEDJTR approvals)
Knowledge and understanding of the environmental and planning issues affecting extractive industry and mining
Client focused with good interpersonal skills and collaborative working approach
Tertiary qualifications in Manufacturing, Extractive Industry or Engineering (Desirable); or
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Planning or similar related discipline
