Golder Associates Senior Structural Engineer in Richmond, Australia

Golder has a new opportunity for a Senior Structural Engineers to join our Geotechnical team on a full-time basis based in Melbourne. You will be working on a variety of infrastructure projects in Victoria and across Australia.

Key duties andresponsibilities include:

  • Developing client relationship and building business

  • Negotiating and reviewing routine fee proposals

  • Responsible for design of temporary/permanentstructural systems from prefeasibility to construction.

  • Carry out design work that will be of challengingnature while working together with internal and external Clients,

  • Also, you will be involved in the design for deepexcavation, vertical retention systems, tunnel entrances using cut andcover, top down, bottom up construction methods and other methods thatsuit Client’s needs,

  • Planning, developing schedules coordinating anddirecting manpower on important engineering projects to meet completiondeadlines.

  • Supervising, coordinating, mentoring andreviewing/evaluating activities carried out by less experienced engineers.

  • Preparing tenders, proposals and reports for clients

  • Involvement with QA and preparing all projectdocumentation in line with Golders internal systems

  • Ensuring the projects are on time and budget to ensurethat the clients expectations are exceeded on a consistent basis

Skills, Qualifications, andExperience

  • You will hold a Masteror Bachelor degree in Civil/Structural engineering & be charted orworking towards it

  • Over9 years’ experience working in structural analysis and design, feeproposals and project management.

  • Extensive experience in design of temporary/ permanentretention systems, formwork/backpropping/scaffold design using proprietarysystems

  • Must have experience with “First Principle” design ofcomplex temporary structures

  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Project management and financial control experience

  • Demonstrated leadership and mentoring skills

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Well-developed interpersonal & stakeholder(internal & external) engagement skills

  • Project management and financial control experience

  • Practical, hands-on experience with construction issuesand queries

  • Track record of capability to work together with officebased and site based personnel
