Golder Associates Senior Tailings Engineer in Richmond, Australia

Golder has a new full-time opportunity within our team for a Senior Tailings Engineer , based in Melbourne . In this role, you will be responsible for the technical direction of tailings design studies, and related analyses. This will include providing recommendations in the area of tailings and mine waste management to clients while delivering best practice consulting services.

Key duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Liaising with specialists from other disciplines or offices within Golder and providing technical direction of tailings design studies and related analyses;

  • Providing recommendations in area of tailings and mine waste management to clients;

  • Stakeholder management, including other consultants, client and sub-contractors;

  • Maintaining effective client relationships and generating consulting business by building and maintaining business networks;

  • Leading of multi-disciplinary project teams on local, regional and international consulting assignments;

  • Providing health, safety and environment leadership to the project teams; and

  • Project managing, budgeting and quality control for tailings, mine waste, heap leach and similar assignments throughout Golder.

Skills, Qualifications, and Experience

  • Bachelor-Degree in Civil/ Mining Engineering or equivalent, as well as post graduate qualifications and demonstrated tailings experience in a professional services, will be highly regarded;

  • Ability to lead and mentor a team of individuals to deliver high quality service to clients within budget and time constraints;

  • Access to local industry knowledge and contacts;

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a creative and focused approach;

  • Ability to work independently and within multi-disciplinary project teams;.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing, presentations and stakeholder management;

  • Proven track record in technical excellence and meeting client needs; and

  • Demonstrated commitment and proactive approach to health and safety culture and providing high quality service.
