Golder Associates Senior Toxicologist in Richmond, Australia

Golder has a new opportunity for a Senior Toxicologist to join our Contaminated Landteam on a full-time or potentially part-time basis based in Melbourne .

Key duties andresponsibilities include:

  • Lead toxicological assessments,human health risk assessment and public health projects for variousclients and types of developments including government, manufacturing,urban renewal, infrastructure, mining, oil and gas facilities

  • Lead and/or be part of project teamsand projects that involve toxicology and/or public health and providesenior leadership and technical direction on medium to large projects sothey are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to client andGolder’s standards

  • Provide senior direction and reviewof technical reports in toxicology, human health risk assessment, rapid(response) risk assessment and public health

  • Provide technical development,mentoring and training of mid and junior staff nationally and locally

  • Manage external client relationshipsincluding development of relationships with new clients to developbusiness opportunities

  • Participate in industry groupsand/or expert panels as part of maintaining high industry profile

  • Liaise with specialists from otherdisciplines or offices within Golder to develop new opportunities intoxicology and human health risk assessment

  • Provide input into the strategy anddirection for the risk assessment and toxicology team in Australia

  • Embrace and lead our strong health,safety and environment culture

Skills andQualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in EnvironmentalScience and relevant post graduate qualification in toxicology, publichealth or a similar field.

  • DABT (desirable) or potential toseek toxicological certification.

  • Extensive experience in toxicology,human health risk assessment andpublic health

  • Experience in working with clientsin sectors such as defence, land development, infrastructure, oil and gas,mining and waste in Australia

  • Registered Chartered/CertifiedProfessional, and a member of a related professional body

  • Experience with of Australianchemical regulatory frameworks (eg NICNAS, APVMA,)

  • Experience providing experttestimony at hearings

  • Experience in developing andmaintaining client relationships

  • High level project and project teammanagement skills (preferred)
