Golder Associates Water Resources Engineer - Mine Water in Richmond, Australia

Golder has a new opportunity for a Water Resources Engineer to join our Mine Water team on a full-time basis based in our Melbourne office.

Key duties andresponsibilities include:

  • Participate in surface water resourcesprojects including: water balance studies, design of hydraulic structuresand surface water management plans, floodplain mapping, dam safetyreviews, dam breach and inundation studies, climate change assessment,mine water management, water and sediment quality assessment, climate andhydrology baseline studies, and environmental compliance and permitting.

  • Create project work plans

  • Complete field studies including flowmeasurements and geomorphic surveys.

  • Undertake hydraulic and hydrologic.

  • Design hydraulic structures and surfacewater management systems.

  • Participate in the preparation ofreports and proposals.

  • Data entry, processing andanalysis.

Skills, Qualifications, and Experience

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineeringor Environmental Engineering from an Accredited University is required,and a post graduate degree is preferred.

  • Experience with hydrologic and hydraulicanalyses, as well as interpretation of water quality data.

  • Previous experience in mining sector

  • Understanding of water balances,including experience developing models using GoldSim software.

  • Experience with hydrology, hydraulics,database and GIS software.

  • Experience in river engineering, fluvialgeomorphology and scour analysis, and exposure to environmental impactassessments and surface water monitoring programs.

  • Exceptional verbal and writtencommunication and interpersonal skills, with established skills inpreparing reports and delivering presentations

  • Excellent time management and technicalwriting skills
