Golder is seeking an Entry-LevelCivil Engineer to join our team in Richmond, VA office. In this role you will provide support for civil and environmental engineering projects. Responsibilities will typically include:

  • Assisting in the planning, design, and implementationof civil and environmental engineering projects relating to wastemanagement, water and waste water treatment, environmental restoration andremediation, and other specialty environmental projects;

  • Assisting with the preparation of design drawings,regulatory permit documents, and technical specifications specificallyrelated to stormwater and surface water, erosion and sediment control,wetlands, and other construction related permits;

  • Assisting in preparing studies and other communicationsfor civil and environmental engineering projects;

  • Performing field activities either individually or aspart of a team that may include the collection of field data,instrumentation monitoring, observation of construction activities, implementinghealth and safety procedures, and oversight of related subcontractor servicesand other field related activities;

  • Performing field activities related to environmentalcompliance, stormwater pollution prevention, and erosion and sedimentcontrol inspections and reporting;

  • Assisting with the development and distribution offield notes, meeting minutes, project action item lists, internal trackingof projects activities, and general project coordination activities insupport of project managers;

  • Attend project meetings and contribute inmeeting the requirements and deadlines associated with design documents, regulatorypermits and construction activities.

  • BS in Civil Engineeringfrom an accredited program

  • EIT is preferred.Golder expects that the successful applicant will pursue registration as aProfessional Engineer (PE)

  • Fluency in commonsoftware such as Microsoft Office Suite, preferred exposure to GIS or Civil 3D,and other data analysis tools

  • Strong written andverbal communication skills, as well as excellent analytical capabilities

  • Willingness to regularlyperform field assignments under varying weather conditions and terrains

  • Willingness to travel.Golder’s global network of offices allows for many opportunities to work onprojects locally and around the world. We often have pressing needs forstaff to assist clients on national and international projects, and travel toassist on these assignments may be required.

  • Ability to lift andcarry field equipment up to 50 pounds
