Golder Associates Inc. is seeking an Entry-LevelCivil Engineer to join our team in Richmond , VA office. In this role you will provide support for civil and environmental engineering projects.

Responsibilities will typically include:

  • Assistingin the planning, design, and implementation of civil and environmentalengineering projects relating to waste management, water and waste watertreatment, environmental restoration and remediation, and other specialty environmentalprojects;

  • Assistingwith the preparation of design drawings, regulatory permit documents, andtechnical specifications specifically related to stormwater and surfacewater, erosion and sediment control, wetlands, and other constructionrelated permits;

  • Assistingin preparing studies and other communications for civil and environmentalengineering projects;

  • Performingfield activities either individually or as part of a team that may includethe collection of field data, instrumentation monitoring, observation ofconstruction activities, implementing health and safety procedures, andoversight of related subcontractor services and other field related activities;

  • Performingfield activities related to environmental compliance, stormwater pollutionprevention, and erosion and sediment control inspections and reporting;

  • Assistingwith the development and distribution of field notes, meeting minutes,project action item lists, internal tracking of projects activities, andgeneral project coordination activities in support of project managers;

  • Attendproject meetings and contribute in meeting the requirements and deadlinesassociated with design documents, regulatory permits and construction activities.

If you are looking to begin a career in Civil Engineering and possess the following skills and attributes, we encourage you to apply.

  • BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering from an accredited program

  • EIT is preferred. Golder expects that the successful applicant will pursue registration as a Professional Engineer (PE)

  • 0 – 3 years of experience in an engineering-related field

  • Fluency in common software such as Microsoft Office Suite, preferred exposure to GIS or Civil 3D, and other data analysis tools

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as excellent analytical capabilities

  • Willingness to regularly perform field assignments under varying weather conditions and terrains

  • Willingness to travel. Golder’s global network of offices allows for many opportunities to work on projects locally and around the world. We often have pressing needs for staff to assist clients on national and international projects, and travel to assist on these assignments may be required.

  • Ability to lift and carry field equipment up to 50 pounds
