Golder is seeking a Graduate Environmental Engineer to join our Roseville, CA office to provide support on civil, environmental, water resources, and hydrotechnical projects. The successful candidate will be able to assist and support in a diverse range of areas including, but not limited to, the following: surface water management, environmental permitting, hydrology, hydraulics, civil design, pipe and pumping systems, and hydrotechnical engineering projects. Work includes integration and collaboration with related geotechnical, geologic, and environmental efforts. An appreciation for high quality, effective communication, and client-focused work products is essential. Some travel will be required.
Responsibilities of the role will include:
Assisting in the planning, design, and implementation of environmental and civil engineering projects relating to surface water management and treatment, environmental permitting and remediation, and other specialty projects
Assisting with the preparation of design reports, design drawings, and regulatory permit documents
Assisting with the preparation of Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans and Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure Plans
Performing hydrologic and hydraulic assessments, analyses, calculations, and related technical engineering concepts
Performing basin or site-scale water balance and water supply assessments
Assisting with water quality data management, evaluation, and interpretation
Performing field activities either individually or as part of a team that may include:
site assessments at industrial facilities
the collection of stormwater grab samples
observation of construction activities
oversight of related subcontractor services
Demonstrating a safety-conscious focus
Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a positive attitude and ability to work both independently and in groups
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Willing and able to travel to projects within the U.S.
Safely perform work in the office and field; fieldwork may occur in all seasonal weather conditions, while using equipment (with an ability to lift and move approximately 40 pounds without assistance) and operating vehicles on behalf of the company
Passenger vehicle driving will be required for some services.
Ability to travel locally, and within the state, up to 25% of the time
Relevant work experience, co-op, or internship
Relevant environmental engineering coursework
Experience with Storm and Sanitary Analysis (SSA), HEC-HMS or related software programs
Experience with AutoCAD, particularly Civil3D
40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER is required for some fieldwork; it will be provided if needed; preferential consideration for candidates with this training.
Experience collaborating with geotechnical and other civil engineering disciplines
