Golder Associates is currently seeking a full-time Practice Leader for the Environmental Permitting and Planning Group in our California locations (Irvine, Sacramento, Sunnyvale, or Walnut Creek).

A key function of this role involves developing with clients as well as providing leadership to a team of technical specialists. Responsibilities may include:

  • Serve as a Practice Leader for the EP&P business across California with direct reporting to the Western US Operations Leader

  • Serve as the Technical Leader, Project Director/Manager for the life cycle of project work; problem definition, solution development, engineering, and operations support;

  • Serve as a Practice Leader for project development and delivery (proposals, project management, client relations, senior reviews, team development and training), being a lead contributor to building an EP &P practice in the Western US;

  • Work to build business opportunities with other Golder staff around the company;

  • Provide strategic advice and direction on clients, business development and staffing;

  • Work with North American Client Sector Leaders in devaluing business opportunities in Power, Oil & GAs, Transportation and Manufacturing;

  • Work with the Power Sector Leader, and other Golder stakeholders, to develop Golder's services in the Renewables subsector;

  • Work to connect and build relationships with other Golder staff engaged in EP&P around the company, through constructive engagement and collaboration; and

  • Contribute to a culture of health, safety and protection of the environment by being a role mode to juniors and new stiff and by giving industry and site perspectives to in experienced staff which are crucial to make safety.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Engineering or related discipline

  • At least 15 years of relevant experience, preferably in a consulting capacity combined with operational planning experience;

  • Business development and client service management skills with a proven track record of developing project opportunities and maintaining successful client relationships; strong existing client relationships and professional contacts are highly desirable;

  • Have previous experience managing multi-disciplinary teams, projects and preparing technical reports;

  • Practice good aptitude to detail, with the ability to recognize discrepancies;

  • Have a good aptitude for using and understanding computer applications; and

  • Have excellent communication and report writing skills.
