Golder Associates US Tunneling Practice Lead in ROSEVILLE, California

Golder has an opportunity for a Tunneling Practice Lead to be based in the US and will consider locations in California, Washington, Texas, and the Northeast including NJ & NY.

Responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Lead the strategic development of Golder’s US Tunneling practice.

  • Primary focus will be on capturing and delivering tunneling related business across the US

  • Secondary focus will be on developing strategic alliances, key hires and U.S. acquisition targets for consideration to advance Golder’s Global Tunneling strategy in the U.S. and internationally

  • Provide technical and tunnel design advise and lead design teams

  • Provide safety leadership in identifying and alleviating/eliminating high priority safety hazards

  • Train, mentor and knowledge share professional staff working within the team


  • Master’s degree in Geological, Geotechnical or Civil Engineering

  • Registered Professional Engineer

  • 20 years of experience working in the tunneling industry in the U.S.

  • Recognized as a leader within the tunnel design community in at least one region of U.S.

  • Proven experience winning and managing large complex tunneling projects

  • Experience delivering projects at the feasibility, planning, design, procurement and construction stages

  • Verifiable project experience and relationships with US tunneling contractors

  • Ability to travel as needed related to marketing, project and management tasks

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal


  • Tunneling experience in California, New York, Ohio and/or Washington D.C.

  • Fluent in Spanish both written and verbal
