Golder Associates Inc. is currently seeking an entry-level Civil or Environmental Engineer for the Sunnyvale (Roseville) office.
A successful candidate must have:
BS degree in civil, environmental, or chemical engineering, MS in civil or environmental engineering preferred;
Strong computer skills including Word and Excel;
Strong, effective verbal and written communication skills;
Data management, data interpretation and technical report writing;
Ability to work independently and within groups;
Relevant coursework experience in water quality and water treatment;
Willingness to travel: this role will involve a mix of office and field work; extended local and/or overnight travel and fieldwork as dictated by project demands required;
Willingness to operate and maintain field testing and monitoring equipment and ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Experience with the following preferred:
0 to 2 years of practical experience working within California and working knowledge of California environmental regulations;
Industrial or construction stormwater NPDES compliance;
Hydrology and surface water modeling;
Surface water, groundwater, and soil sampling techniques and procedures;
Familiarity with water treatment technologies and Low Impact Development (LID);
Subsurface investigation processes including: drilling, soil classification, and well installation;
Preparation of geologic boring logs, cross-sections, groundwater contour maps and isoconcentration maps;
Specialized computer skills including surface water modeling (SWMM, HEC), database; applications, groundwater and contaminant modeling software, AutoCAD and/or gINT;
40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER health and safety training and/or MSHA Part 46/48 training.
