Golder Associates Intermediate to Senior Aquatic Technician in SASKATOON, Saskatchewan

Golder has a new opportunity for Intermediate to Senior Aquatic Technicians to join our Biophysical team based in Edmonton, Calgary, or Saskatoon.

An overview of your role will include:

  • Preparing and adhering to site-specific health and safety plans to mitigate or eliminate risks to you, Golder's clients, employees, and the public

  • Participating in fieldwork or office assignments

  • Working individually or within multi-disciplinary teams

  • Interacting with clients and contractors

  • Recording and managing project-related field data and notes and assisting with deliverable preparation

  • Completing tasks efficiently while adhering to current industry standards and regulatory requirements

You will have a background in:

  • Technical diploma or degree

  • Experience with aquatics fieldwork and field data collection, with a minimum of five years of experience

  • Prior consulting and environmental monitoring experience is an asset

  • A positive and enthusiastic attitude, a willingness to learn, and the ability to work with minimal supervision and lead field teams

  • Proficiency with Microsoft software

  • Strong awareness of health and safety issues and a safety-conscious attitude

  • Self-motivated and demonstrate strong time management skills

  • Willingness to travel and participate in fieldwork (including overtime hours)

  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment

  • Willingness to perform physically demanding work in various weather conditions

  • Willing to participate in remote fieldwork and be able to adapt to unpredictable and/or inclement field conditions and changing schedules. Must be willing to be away from home for extended periods of time

  • Strong outdoor skills, experience working in remote areas, and experience and required certifications for operating field equipment including boats, ATVs, snowmobiles, GPS, water, and sediment sampling equipment

  • Experience and willingness to travel and work out of remote locations for extended periods

  • A valid driver’s license

  • A Pleasure Craft Operator Card

  • Knowledge of federal and provincial regulatory and permitting requirements for developments in or near water

  • Experience on multi-disciplinary projects including wildlife, vegetation and soils experience
