Golder is currently seeking experienced Mine Closure Engineers or Specialists to join Golder’s global Mining Business in one of our US offices (possibly Reno, Elko, Salt Lake City, Phoenix, Tucson, Denver, Silver City, or Albuquerque) . You would provide specialist services related to mining and mine closure projects, with a focus on one of the following: integrated project delivery, civil/geotechnical engineering, water management, geochemistry and water quality, permitting, and/or reclamation.
An opportunity to collaborate on the development and implementation of closure plans and related studies for some of the world’s top mining companies, in a company that places high value on technical excellence. This will also be an opportunity to work with a team of highly respected senior specialist in a multi-disciplinary setting. Duties & Responsibilities Include:
Contributing to technical studies related to mine closure, from conceptual studies through to detailed design and implementation.
Providing technical input related to options assessments, evaluations, and selection.
Participating in complex projects involving large teams, changing demands, and multiple stakeholders.
Providing mentorship to junior professionals locally as well as across Golder’s business units.
Collaborating with Golder colleagues on new opportunities and in response to Golder client requests; contributing to proposal and opportunity management.
Qualifications & Experience:
A strong technical background with an advanced degree or equivalent experience in a technical field related to mine closure
At least 8 years of professional experience, with a significant focus on mine closure and closure-related issues. 12 years preferred.
Experience with the development and execution of mine closure plans.
Experience with developing closure cost estimates, using various tools, for corporate and regulatory purposes.
Demonstrated success in the consulting field, with the ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
A demonstrated interest in mine closure, e.g., history of publishing/presenting on related topics
