Golder has a new opportunity for an Intermediate Environmental and Social Impact Assessment Practitioner (ESIA) to join our team on a full time basis. Delivery of a variety of ESIA’s to our clients is a major and rapidly growing service within Golder. We are looking for highly successful, enthusiastic, ambitious people who share in our values to join our team. You will coordinate and/or manage ESIA studies and consultation programs and prepare ESIA reports. In this role you will have opportunities to work on diverse and challenging projects.
An overview of your role will include:
Coordinating and managing ESIAs across a variety of business sectors; ensuring that high-quality deliverables are provided within budget and on schedule
Coordinating and managing consultation programs in support of the ESIA projects, including the preparation of presentation materials, tracking stakeholder issues, and logistics activities
Supporting the preparation of ESIA reports and related deliverables
Communicating with clients, multi-disciplinary technical teams, the public, Indigenous communities and key regulatory stakeholders on topics relating to ESIA
Building strong, lasting relationships with clients, and developing new business opportunities
You will have the following qualifications and skills:
A minimum of a college diploma or bachelor’s degree in a related field (i.e. Environmental Sciences, Environmental Planning, Environmental Engineering)
A minimum of five (5) years of ESIA experience
Professional experience in writing proposals, technical memos, letters, presentation materials and environmental reports; a writing sample will be required
Ability to analyze and interpret technical material and develop comprehensive written content for non-technical and technical audiences
Experience working with the public and other stakeholders (e.g. regulators, NGOs); experience working with Indigenous communities is an asset
A strong understanding of the Canadian and/or Provincial ESIA legislation
Highly effective organizational and communication skills
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced consulting environment, function in a team setting, accept responsibility and work to deadlines
