Golder has a new opportunity for a Project Manager to join our Environmental Services team that is dedicated to performing environmental site assessments, site characterization, remediation services on client sites across Ontario. This position allows for management of small to medium sized projects. Once sound project coordination and environmental practice have been proven, there will be an opportunity to rapidly assume increasing autonomy and responsibility.

An overview of your role will include:

  • Participation in a team environment, working closely with Project Managers, Senior Project Directors/Technical Leads and Field Technicians/Scientists/Engineers;

  • Preparation of proposals and cost estimates;

  • Scheduling of field staff and subcontractors;

  • Compile data for reports;

  • Report writing including preparing conclusions and recommendations;

  • Project accounting, tracking and reporting requirements to the terms of reference under Golder’s Master Services Agreements;

  • Training junior staff in environmental practices including Phase I and II ESAs, drilling, surveying, groundwater sampling, oversight of remediation etc.;

  • Training other Golder staff on site specific health and safety;

  • Interface with clients to ensure needs are met and projects/proposals are moving forward - Work with other members of the team to ensure provision of the support necessary for completion of projects;

  • Work with and provide support to other members of the Contaminated Sites Management Group in sharing health and safety, project management, project completion and client service responsibilities.

You will have to possess the following qualifications:

  • University degree in engineering or natural/earth sciences;

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in contaminated site assessments and conceptual site models;

  • Sound understanding of the need for health and safety procedures in the workplace/Possess a safety conscious attitude;

  • An analytical mind; someone who is able to make recommendations on the next steps for client sites;

  • Willingness to work in the field on projects as needed;

  • Ability to work patiently with and help train less experienced team members;

  • Strong interpersonal, communication and key judgment skills;

  • Preference will be given to those individuals with more extensive experience in groundwater projects, conceptual site model formulation, and operation/maintenance of active remediation systems;

  • Understanding of Ontario Regulation 153/04 and previous involvement in Record of Site Conditions;

  • P.Eng. or P.Geo. designation is preferred.
