You will bring your technical and management strengths to:
Demonstrate a “Safety First” focus;
Conduct a full range of mine engineering functions;
Perform strategic modeling, design and engineering analyses duties, including interactive mine design and sequencing utilizing various mine modeling software packages. This will require working on projects with some supervision;
Apply Golder’s Project Management standards to manage all aspects of projects;
Work collaboratively with engineers and technical staff to develop the skills and procedures needed to effectively deliver engineering and consulting assignments;
Maintain a balance of at least 75% chargeable hours;
Work as a mentor to junior staff;
Learn to identify, develop, and follow through on new business opportunities;
Continually apply a high standard of ethical behaviour to promote and support Golder’s Core Values and Culture.
As a key member of the Mineral Project Evaluations Group; you will possess the following qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Mine Engineering;
Registered, or have the ability to register, as a Professional Engineer in Canada or the USA, depending on office location;
A minimum of 3-5 years relevant experience with an emphasis on underground hard rock mine planning, design and scheduling. Open pit experience is an asset.
Experience as a consulting engineer or with a technical services role within a mining company;
Previous experience working on technical mining projects and contributing to technical reports;
Appropriate experience in utilizing mine planning, design and scheduling software packages such as Vulcan, Surpac, Deswick, Datamine, Gemcom, MineScape, Whittle, XPAC and Spry;
Fluent in English with fluency in other languages (e.g. French, Spanish, Portuguese) considered an asset;
Excellent communication skills including report writing and presentation skills;
Ability to travel internationally and to remote project locations.
