Golder Associates Ltd. is seeking an Intermediate Hydrogeologist to join our Mine Environment Division at our Sudbury Location.
Reporting to the Mine Environment Group Leader. This individual will provide office and field support for engineering and environmental investigations and operational water management primarily for the mining sector.
Anoverview of your role will include:
Supporting hydrogeological, hydrologicaland water quality studies related primarily to mine water management,permitting and environmental compliance projects
Conducting and leading field work, includingsite characterization, drilling supervision, well installation and maintenance,hydraulic testing, and water quality sampling
Providing technical support to geologicand hydrogeologic visualization, analytical and numerical groundwater flowmodeling, and development of conceptual site models
Working independently, and under thedirection of senior specialists in related and other environmental disciplines
Preparing technical reports and developingproposals
You will have a background in:
Bachelor’s degree in Hydrogeology, Geology, Environmental or Water Resources Engineering, or similar program
4-7 years of professional experience
Professional Geologist or Engineer designation, or ability to obtain registration, in the Province of Ontario
A flexible attitude and the ability to adapt to a dynamic and demanding work environment
Willingness to travel for periods of up to 2 weeks at a time
Excellent communication, leadership, problem solving, writing and people skills
Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access)
Graduate or post-graduate level knowledge of hydrogeological concepts
Experience with the operation and troubleshooting of hydrogeological testing equipment
Experience in the mining sector preferred, including working on mine sites
Strong field and laboratory skills, with demonstrated applications of hydrogeological principles
