Golder Associates is seeking a Junior Water Resources/ Hydrologist to join its dynamic Water Resources team based in Sudbury . As a key member of the team, you will be involved in a broad range of responsibilities:
Your work will be a combination of office and field work for locally-based and remote project sites, supervised by senior water resources practitioners. Projects will require outdoor work in all seasons, with occasional travel.
• Participate in surface water resources projects, including watershed management, development impact evaluations, design of hydraulic structures and storm water management systems, natural channel design, flood line mapping, water and sediment quality assessments, and environmental compliance and permitting.
• Create project work plans.
• Complete field studies including flow measurements and water quality sampling.
• Implement hydraulic, hydrologic and water quality analyses.
• Design hydraulic structures and storm water management systems.
• Participate in the preparation of reports and proposals.
• Data entry, processing and analysis.
The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:
A thorough understanding of climatology, hydrology and hydraulic theory
Knowledgeable in hydrological and hydraulic analyses such as water balances and channel design
Demonstrated experience with hydrological field techniques and procedures
Experience working with Microsoft Excel and/or other databases
Valid drivers' license, boater's license
Minimum education of Bachelor's degree in Water Resources Engineering or Environmental Engineering or Science with a hydrological specialization
