Golder has a new opportunity for a Senior Mineral Resources Geologist to join our Mine Engineering & Stability team on a full time basis from our Sudbury location.
An overview of your role will include:
Assist with the preparation of geological models
Assist with mineral resource estimations
Assist with site investigations for projects
Assist with audits and quality assurance and quality control reviews
Contribute to and review technical reports
Assist in the preparation of scope of services for geology and mining studies (PEA, PFS, FS)
Other duties as assigned
Promote the company and attract new business
Travel to various client sites, attend project meetings, and conduct field reviews, typically on short notice
Must be able to attend mine sites and observe all applicable safety regulations
Must possess a valid driver’s license
Ability to work and complete tasks with supervision, make informed decisions, and take responsibility on technical matters
Must possess a team player attitude and be able to work in project team environment
You will have a background in:
Undergraduate degree in Geology or Geological Engineering
Registered as a Professional Geologist in Canada or equivalent
5 years of experience, with a mix of consulting, operational and exploration experience preferred
Familiar with international and public disclosure and reporting codes, including NI 43-101, JORC, SAMREC, SME Guide, Competent Persons Reports, Mineral Resource Reports, etc.
Skills in geostatistics and resources estimations
Knowledge of mining fundamentals and techniques, rock mechanics, and mineral processing
Excellent knowledge of computer applications including Microsoft Office Suite
Working knowledge of 3D modeling software, mapping & geological database software: Surpac, Datamine, Minesight, Vulcan, Leapfrog Geo or Isatis
Knowledge and experience with scripts and macros
Ability to communicate with colleagues and clients in a professional and technical manner
Flexibility to travel as required for project work
Fluent in the English language with excellent verbal and written communication skills
