Golder Associates Senior Geologist in SUDBURY, Ontario

Golder has a new opportunity for a Senior Mineral Resources Geologist to join our Mine Engineering & Stability team on a full time basis from our Sudbury location.

An overview of your role will include:

  • Assist with the preparation of geological models

  • Assist with mineral resource estimations

  • Assist with site investigations for projects

  • Assist with audits and quality assurance and quality control reviews

  • Contribute to and review technical reports

  • Assist in the preparation of scope of services for geology and mining studies (PEA, PFS, FS)

  • Other duties as assigned

  • Promote the company and attract new business

  • Travel to various client sites, attend project meetings, and conduct field reviews, typically on short notice

  • Must be able to attend mine sites and observe all applicable safety regulations

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license

  • Ability to work and complete tasks with supervision, make informed decisions, and take responsibility on technical matters

  • Must possess a team player attitude and be able to work in project team environment

You will have a background in:

  • Undergraduate degree in Geology or Geological Engineering

  • Registered as a Professional Geologist in Canada or equivalent

  • 5 years of experience, with a mix of consulting, operational and exploration experience preferred

  • Familiar with international and public disclosure and reporting codes, including NI 43-101, JORC, SAMREC, SME Guide, Competent Persons Reports, Mineral Resource Reports, etc.

  • Skills in geostatistics and resources estimations

  • Knowledge of mining fundamentals and techniques, rock mechanics, and mineral processing

  • Excellent knowledge of computer applications including Microsoft Office Suite

  • Working knowledge of 3D modeling software, mapping & geological database software: Surpac, Datamine, Minesight, Vulcan, Leapfrog Geo or Isatis

  • Knowledge and experience with scripts and macros

  • Ability to communicate with colleagues and clients in a professional and technical manner

  • Flexibility to travel as required for project work

  • Fluent in the English language with excellent verbal and written communication skills
