Golder Associates Ltd. is seeking a Senior Mining Engineer to join our Process and Infrastructure Design Group at our Sudbury location
Our services in the core fields of underground backfill and dewatered mine tailings for surface disposal include laboratory testing, conceptual to feasibility level studies, engineering design, construction, commissioning and project management for diverse clients in local and global mining markets. Additionally, with our expanded service offering we perform design work for crushing / ore handling systems, mine dewatering, pipeline services, shaft design, fuel and lube station, ventilation, and other underground infrastructure.
Anoverview of your role will include:
Perform conceptual, feasibility, detailed engineering design work
Perform field work, data analysis and calculations
Responsible for developing and writing equipment specifications
Provide mentoring to junior employees
Write and review proposals and reports
Perform Project Management duties as required
Perform audits and troubleshooting of existing mine infrastructure
May be required to provide on-site support supervision in constructionsetting
Follow Health and Safety responsibilities under all applicable governmentlegislations and Golder policies and procedures
Travel to project sites as required
You willhave a background in:
Bachelor or Master’s degree in Mining Engineering
8 to 12 years of relevant consulting or operating experience in a miningsetting
Demonstrated background in elements of backfill, mine infrastructure, andmine design, including ventilation, rock mechanics, mine planning, and/oroperations experience
Possess Professional Engineer accreditation in the province of Ontario oreligibility for Professional Engineering Certification in the province ofOntario
Proficient in AutoCAD
Proficient with Microsoft Office and general computer usage
Demonstrates a 'Safety First" focus attitude
Strong organizational skills
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
Strong people skills and an ability to work in a team environment
