Golder has a new opportunity for a Senior Environmental Consultant to join our Environmental services team on a full-time basis based in Tadcaster or Nottingham.
Working as part of a small but busy team, you will be responsible for leading the delivery of a range of environmental projects, primarily in the area of environmental permitting. You will ensure that project deliverables meet Client and Regulator requirements, and undertake business development along work with other Senior Consultants. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in these technical areas together with business development activities to contribute to the growth of the team. Additional technical expertise (e.g. air quality, noise, EHS audit, EIA) will also be beneficial.
Key duties and responsibilities include:
· Complete environmental permit applications, variations and surrenders using relevant Environment Agency tools on behalf of our clients.
· Complete Business Development activities including liaising with clients, writing proposals.
· Liaise professionally with Golder’s clients and relevant Regulatory bodies to deliver successful outcomes to projects.
· Support project delivery in other areas of technical specialism (e.g. air quality, noise, EHS audit, EIA) .
· Travel to project sites across the UK, including occasional work away from home, with the potential to work internationally supporting global projects.
Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:
Relevant BSc in environmental sciences, geology, geography, physics or chemistry. A relevant MSc would also be beneficial.
Demonstrable experience of the environmental permitting regime, including knowledge of the information that must be included in permit applications, undertaking BAT assessments, and auditing against permit requirements, particularly on complex manufacturing facilities.
Experience of permitting for manufacturing (food & drink, industrial, chemical, pharma, aggregate industry), waste and onshore oil and gas sites. Medium Combustion plant permitting experience also useful.
Knowledge and experience of another related technical specialism (e.g. air quality, noise, EHS audit, EIA).
Membership of relevant professional bodies.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate with people at different levels within an organisation.
Proven ability in data analysis and interpretation.
Proficient user of Microsoft Office packages, especially Excel, and ArcGIS.
Excellent time-management, time-keeping and organisational capabilities, and ability to work to tight deadlines.
Full UK driving license and confidence to travel long-distances or on unknown roads.
