Golder has a new opportunity for a Project Coordinator to join our Mining team on a Full-time basis based in Phoenix or Tucson , Arizona . Your role could include involvement through all stages of a mining project’s life cycle (i.e. Initiation, Planning, Execution, Monitoring and Control, and Closure) for consulting specific projects.
Most of your work will relate to engineering, science, and/or environmental consulting. You will support project and technical managers in the delivery of projects in areas such as mine engineering, permitting, field investigations, desktop analyses, numerical modeling, permitting, studies, research, etc. EPCM is not a focus for this position. You will work closely with and be provided direction by project and technical managers within our Mine Waste, Mine Water, Mine Engineering and Stability, and Mine Environment businesses.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
Support Project Managers and internal stakeholders in planning and executing projects
Coordinate project setup and closing as per Golder’s Project Delivery procedures
Assist with developing and maintaining project Work Breakdown Structure and schedule
Coordinate logistics in support of travel and field programs, including mobilization, site access, accommodation, field supplies, etc.
Setup and maintain budget and expenditure tracking under the guidance of Project Managers
Interface with the accounting team regarding client invoicing, payments and the monthly project billing cycle
Maintain project contracts and documentation for sub-consultants, contractors, and vendors
Track equipment calibration certification
Track and ensure compliance with requirements of quality management processes or plans
Assist with developing and managing project Health, Safety, Security, and Environment plans
Coordinate and document team communications
Compile progress reports for the client, project team and other stakeholders
Coordinate document delivery, updates, filing and implement other control systems
Minimum of 2 years of work experiencein consulting or in a multi-disciplinary and/or project management support environment
Basic knowledge of project management principles
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) and SharePoint
Experience with or aptitude to learn project financial tracking and change management systems
Strong skills related to organization, written and oral communication, and attention to detail
Two or more years of consulting experience in a multi-disciplinary and/or project management support environment
Experience with scheduling tools (e.g., Primavera P6 or MS Project)
Experience in an engineering or construction setting
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or working towards a PMP
