Golder Associates Project Manager - Civil Works, Remediation and Decommissioning in TORINO, Italy

The holder of this position is an experienced Project Manager with at least 10 years of national and international experience in managing decommissioning and/or large site remediation projects with a strong component of civil or geotechnical works, of different sizes and complexity, in the O&G or Manufacturing markets.

The candidate has deep knowledge of the PMBok principles and has a track record of managed projects, while leading Teams, from very small to mid size (from 2 to 10 people), and is well versed in a related technical discipline (e.g. preferred Civil or Geotechnical engineering).

The candidate has experience in managing field activities and is qualified to act as “ Direttore Lavori ” and registered as “ CSP, CSE ” according to the Italian legislation. The profile has a good knowledge and working experience of the Italian Public Works legislation (“ Codice dei contratti pubblici ”, Legislative Decree No. 50/2016).

The candidate has a strong experience in geotechnical topics, a strong knowledge of Italian legislation of technical standards of construction (“ NTC 2018 ”), at least for geotechnical applications, and a perfect knowledge of geotechnical (Slide, etc.) and volumetric analysis (Topko, Meridiana, etc.) softwares are requested.

The Main Responsibility of the function are:

  • To act as Technical Reviewer or Technical Lead on geotechnical aspects of the projects;

  • To collaborate with the Project Directors to identify the project objectives (times, costs, methods and contents of the service, profitability targets, etc.) following the contract awards or the received change orders from the Customer;

  • To manage the resources assigned to the project phases, according to the required professional skills, ensuring their involvement by sharing the objectives and keeping the internal resources motivated, also by solving issues or conflicts;

  • To monitor the progress of projects in terms of budget analysis and cost to conclude estimates;

  • To negotiate in the best interest of both parties any change order or variation that the project require for its positive conclusion;

  • To ensure that the internal and Client Quality procedures are duly followed during the project development;

  • To act as the pivot of the Project Communication, both with the Client and internally, during the different project phases, and to establish a positive and constant dialogue with the Project Directors and with the professional staff;

  • To monitor the performance of the resources and return timely and regular feedback to them and if needed to the respective Group Leader;

  • To manage any supplies required for the project in accordance with the Company procedures;

  • To plan the environmental and safety aspects of the various phases of the project and their implementation during the execution phase, in compliance with the applicable legislation;

  • To identify the risk areas of the projects, proposing technical and organizational solutions for their monitoring and management;

  • To inform the Management of any event that during the course of the project may cause damage or a request for compensation from the Client or third parties involved in the project;

In collaboration with the Project Director and with the Business Development function, to promote actions to develop new business opportunities for the Client.

The Main Skills required for the position are:

  • Master Degree ( Laurea Magistrale ) in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering;

  • 10 years of experience in the position;

  • Effectiveness in managing Teams, keeping them motivated and focused to the agreed targets;

The Preferential Decision Factors for the position are:
