Golder Associates is seeking a Senior Project Mechanical Engineer to join our Mine Waste Management Group , at our Tucson, Arizona office. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated senior level hire (10-15 yrs. relevant experience) with background in mining projects including comminution circuits, material handling, concentrator, SX-EW, tailings impoundment infrastructure, slurry and water pump-stations and pipelines, etc.
Anoverview of your role will include:
ProvidingProject technical leadership on projects and company resources for mechanicalsystem design and development.
Developingmechanical system design solutions based on engineering principles andpresentations to the clients.
Providingtechnical support to external and internal customers.
Deliveringsuccess whether as project leader, or as part of a large integrated team.
Ensuringrelevant safety objectives and legal requirements are observed for allengineering design.
Supportingproposal efforts through technical concept development and budgetingactivities.
Interpretingclient requirements, identifying and addressing design parameters.
Mentoringjunior engineers with:
Equipmentsizing, hydraulic calculations, pipe sizing, material selection andspecifications;
Performingengineering to specify and size mechanical equipment including flotation cells,conveyors, pumps, blowers, compressors, control valves, regulators, reliefvalves, pipe and other associated process equipment
Preparingengineering drawings packages including PFDs, PIDs, General Arrangements,Mechanical & Piping Details, Piping plans, sections and details, pipelinealignment sheets for process engineering design
Preparationof technical documents including specifications, data-sheets, technical bidanalysis, etc.
Yourbackground will include:
Bachelor’s degreein mechanical, mining, civil or chemical engineering from anaccredited institution;
10-15 years’experience in an architectural and engineering (A&E) design, engineeringor consultancy firm working on mining projects
Familiar with ASMEdesign codes and standards
Familiar withdesign software such as AutoCAD, Plant 3D, MicroStation, etc.
Strong MSOffice-Excel skills;
Solid organizationand time management abilities;
Stronginterpersonal skills combined with a positive, team-oriented attitude;
High level ofpersonal integrity with a strong work ethic;
Willingness totravel to meet project demands
Pass apre-employment physical including a drug screening and background check
Authorization towork in the United States
