Our Tucson officeis currently seeking a ProjectEngineer. This individual will be responsible for oversight and independent management of projects and project tasks including interpretation of data, analysis, and development of conclusions and recommendations. Candidate will work directly under senior staff and manage junior professional and technical staff. Candidate must have strong technical skills and demonstrated experience in site layout and grading, geotechnical investigation and design, hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, and report preparation. Candidate will be responsible for preparing project proposals, managing projects, and interfacing directly with clients.
This individual will be responsible for:
Working with project teams on geotechnical engineering projects that involve field work, data evaluation, engineering analysis, geotechnical soils laboratory work and report preparation
Conducting field assignments, such as construction quality assurance, drilling supervision, borehole logging, test pit logging, site reconnaissance, and construction monitoring;
Summarizing the findings of the field assignments for input into engineering reports
Performing office tasks such as engineering analyses, engineering design, construction recommendations, and report preparation
The preferred candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:
Master's degree in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering with 5 years of relevant work experience preferred
Strong geotechnical soils laboratory skills and field skills such as core logging, soil sampling, and groundwater sampling
Strong computer skills and experience with industry standard commercial computer software including: Microsoft Office, AutoCAD/Civil3D, and various mining and geo-engineering software (i.e. slope stability, sheet pile walls, etc.)
Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills, problem solving skills, and a positive attitude as well as the ability to work both independently and on teams
Willingness to perform a variety of tasks as needed to complete an assignment and satisfy project demands
Spanish and English speaking preferred
Must be eligible for employment in the U.S. and pass a pre-employment physical including drug screen and pre-employment background check
