Golder Associates Inc. is looking for a full-time Project Engineer to join our office in Tucson, AZ .
Responsibilities of the role will include:
Perform field investigations for civil andgeotechnical projects.
Scheduling field work for geotechnical drilling and sampling, visual fieldreconnaissance, and soil and rock logging.
Observe and document construction activities, samplematerials, coordinate laboratory testing, and perform soil field tests such as moisture-density andpermeability.
Perform civil and geotechnical engineering calculations and analyses using hand andcomputer-based tools under senior direction.
40 hrs/week, Mon-Fri, 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
Master’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Geology, Engineering (Geological or Civil), or a related field, and five (5) years of post-bachelor, progressive, related work experience. In the alternative, the employer will accept a PhD degree or foreign equivalent degree in a stated field plus two (2) years of experience.
Must have two (2) years of experience with/in:
Performing Geohazard assessment using terrestrial and UAV based LiDAR and photogrammetry techniques for natural and cut slopes along highways;
Generating 3D point clouds and textured meshes using structure from motion photogrammetry software;
Performing change detection analysis, cropping and manipulating point cloud data, and mapping geologic structure on point cloud data using Maptek, iSite Studio, and/or SplitFX;
Design and detailing of various rockfall mitigation measures such as catchment ditches, drapes, pinned mesh, and rockfall barriers;
Evaluating slope monitoring data such as terrestrial radar, GPS units, total stations and prisms, and InSAR based data;
Producing maps and figures working with various data sources using ArcGIS Desktop;
Develop permit, design, and construction drawings using AutoCAD.
Registration as a Professional Engineer in Geological or Civil Engineering in at least one State.
