Golder has a new opportunity for a Senior Consultant – Mine Water to join our team in a Full-Time position at our Tucson, Arizona office.

The selected professional will have the opportunity to provide leadership in the areas of mine water management and hydrogeology, and for applications related to mine closure and environmental permitting. We work for some of the world’s top mining companies, and place a high value on technical excellence. This will be an opportunity to work with, mentor, and grow multidisciplinary teams of professional in a collaborative, challenging and supportive environment. The position will include opportunities for both national and international work.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Provide technical leadership related to hydrogeology and groundwaterstudies, in support of environmental permitting and compliance for mines.

  • Lead and review technical studies related to mine closure, fromconceptual studies through to detailed design and implementation.

  • Deliver complex projects through the integration of other water-relateddisciplines (e.g., geochemistry, water quality, surface water, groundwater),and in close collaboration with geotechnical,mine planning, and environmental specialists.

  • Provide leadership and mentoring to professionals across Golder’sbusiness units, locally and internationally.

  • Collaborate with Golder colleagues on new opportunities and in responseto Golder client requests; leading and contributing to proposal and opportunitymanagement.

  • Grow the business by interacting with clients as the face of Golder, andleveraging your existing network of mining industry contacts and professionalcolleagues.

Required:

  • A strong technical background, including a Bachelor degree in Hydrogeology or similar

  • At least 15 years ofprofessional experience, with a significant focus on mine water and mine closure.

  • Experience with thedevelopment and execution of groundwater studies, mine closure plans,preferably working with major mining companies.

  • Full professionalproficiency in English, with excellent written and oral communicationskills.

  • RegisteredProfessional Geologist or Geoscientist.

Preferred:

  • 20 years of experience.

  • Demonstrated success in consulting, with theability to build multidisciplinary teams, develop business, and provideexcellent client service.

  • Experience with developing permit applicationsand/or providing operational support to existing mines.

  • Language skills, particularly French andSpanish.

  • Ability to travel for work, includinginternationally.

  • A history of publishing/presenting on technicaltopics.

  • Advanced degree(s) related to geosciences ormine environment.
