Golder has a new opportunity for an Intermediate Environmental Scientist to join our Environmental Remediation & Water team on a full-time basis based in Vancouver.
An overview of your role will include:
Collaborate with senior staff in the design and execution of toxicology, water quality, environmental assessment, environmental monitoring and risk assessment projects at sites throughout Western Canada and the North
Take ownership of project tasks by delegating appropriate activities to junior staff while providing them with mentoring and technical support
Provide leadership for our field staff in safe work execution, and provide day-to-day project management and communication with our clients
Act as the primary author for reports (or sections of reports) related to your technical speciality
Keep learning new technical skills by collaborating with your colleagues on multi-disciplinary projects
Your background will include:
Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in a relevant discipline such as risk assessment, geochemistry, toxicology, ecology or environmental science; we value a multi-disciplinary approach to our work
Five years of relevant post-Bachelor’s degree experience for candidates with a Bachelor’s degree (or two years experience after completion of a Master’s)
Experience working on ecological and human health risk assessments in British Columbia, or on Canadian environmental assessment projects is desirable
Ability to work proactively to solve problems as a member of one or more project teams
Strong data evaluation, reporting and verbal communication skills
Expertise in statistical analyses and modeling is desirable
