Golder Associates Ltd. is seeking an Intermediate Geotechnical Engineer to join MineWaste Management Team , at the Vancouver office . You will have the opportunity to work as a part of a regional team on challenging mining, heavy civil, and geotechnical projects.

Anoverview of your role will include:

  • Plan a wide variety of geotechnical and minewaste management projects, including field investigation, laboratorytesting and interpretation; design and construction; geotechnicalanalysis; and dam safety inspections and reviews

  • Scope, direct, and review geotechnical analyseswith a focus on soil mechanics, including stability, seepage, thermalmodelling; deposition modeling; and run out analyses for tailingsfacilities, water dams and waste rock spoils

  • Organize geotechnical investigations andlaboratory testing

  • Manage small projects according toclient-approved scopes of work, and deliver high quality reports on timeand within budget under the supervision of senior engineers

  • Support technical proposals and design workpackage in response to client needs, under the supervision of seniorengineers

  • Delegate work to junior engineers

  • Participate in and promote a safety-firstculture

You willhave a background in:

  • 4 to 7 years of relevant (post-degree)experience working in a consulting engineering or mining industryenvironment

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or GeologicalEngineering, Master’s Degree preferred

  • Currently registered or eligible forregistration as a Professional Engineer in British Columbia

  • Strong technical writing, interpersonalcommunication, and emotional intelligence

  • Project management skills

  • Have a sound knowledge in soil mechanics andgeotechnical engineering

  • Ability to think critically and problem solve

  • Ability to effectively delegate work and leadsmall project teams

  • French or Spanish language skills (verbal andwritten) would be an asset
