Golder has a new opportunity for an Intermediate Marine Structural Engineer to join our EnvironmentalRemediation & Water team on a full-time basis based in Vancouver. As Intermediate Marine Structural Engineer , you will be expected to step into a technical specialist role for coastal and port engineering projects in BC, across Canada and internationally. You will join a growing Coastal & Port Engineering Team based in Vancouver, Victoria, Calgary, and Mississauga that services projects in Oil & Gas, Mining, Transportation, Power and Government sectors.

An overview of yourrole will include:

  • Assistingwith technical delivery of projects or project related tasks associated withmarine construction and infrastructure, including dredging, reclamation, portsand marine terminals and marine transportation infrastructure

  • Conductingstudies and analyses related to the design of marine and coastal structures fornew and existing ports and marine terminals for both large and small projectsincluding preparation of documents for port strategic planning, engineering,procurement, contracting and management of related port and terminal projects.

  • Preparationof technical specifications, coordination of drawings, reports and supportingdocuments for marine infrastructure projects

  • Conductingand supervising inspections for marine construction projects and conditionassessments of existing marine structures

  • Participatingin multi-disciplinary teams to complete environmental assessments and implementengineering solutions for marine infrastructure projects.

  • Assistingwith business development

You will have a background in:

  • University degree (preferably Master’s or Ph.D. in civil, port or ocean engineering with specialisation in marine structural engineering)

  • Professional registration as an Engineer in British Columbia as a Civil, Hydrotechnical or Marine Engineer or with proven eligibility for Professional registration in Canada

  • 5 years of work experience in the field of coastal, port or ocean engineering, experience in Environmental Assessments, coastal, port and terminal engineering design. Solid understanding of Experience in a consulting environment would be an asset

  • Proven ability with application of relevant and current structural analysis software tools

  • Familiarity with (international) marine design codes and standards;

  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills and demonstrated teamwork skills
