Golder Associates Ltd. is seeking a Junior Hydrogeologist to join our Mine Water and Environment Group at the Vancouver office .

This individual will provide field and office support for hydrogeological investigations as part of our mining business, including design and operational mine water management.

An overview of your role will include:

  • Perform field work in support of geological, geotechnical and hydrogeological investigations including collection of field data, data interpretation and evaluation, and preparation of technical reports

  • Provide technical support for geological and hydrogeological data analyses, visualization and development of conceptual site models

  • Contribute to proposals, project management, and client and regulatory agency interactions, with responsibilities appropriate to the level of experience of the individual.

You willhave a background in:

  • Bachelor’s degree in hydrogeology or geological engineering (degreein hydrogeology, geology, geosciences or similar).

  • 0 to 2 years experience in consulting practice or mining industry,with demonstrable academic or job experience in hydrogeologic datacollection and analysis.

  • Ability to operate and maintain specialized field testing andmonitoring equipment

  • Willingness and ability to travel and participate in field programsof 2 to 3 weeks in duration, often on a rotational basis, within NorthAmerica and internationally

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills combined withwillingness to work as part of a group.

  • Focus on health and safety

  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint,etc.

  • Valid driver’s license.

  • Currently registered or eligible for registration with EGBC.

Desired Skills

Thesuccessful candidate would possess the following:

  • Mechanical skills to handle and operate sophisticatedhydrogeological testing equipment including pneumatic and hydraulic tools,and electronics

  • 2 to 4 years of professional experience, including geologic mapping,drilling supervision, borehole logging, installation and maintenance ofgroundwater wells, and surface and groundwater sampling

  • Experience with technical writing and producing tables, figures,graphs, and reports
