Golder has a new opportunity for a Senior Construction Engineer to join our Construction team on a full-time basis based in Vancouver.

The Senior Construction Engineer provides design support to the project manager, develops construction project specifications and drawings, and oversees quality assurance and testing duties to verify permanent installations conform to the project design and specification.

An overview of your role will include:

  • Scheduling and/or planning duties in the office or on site.

  • Assisting with the preparation of estimates for changes on site or with proposals in the office.

  • Assisting designer/s as needed.

  • Interpretation of drawings and specifications for construction site supervisors, foremen, operators, and tradespersons and assuring construction works are fully compliant.

  • Supervision of technicians/construction engineers/surveyors.

  • Providing support to Project Managers, Design Managers, Engineers and project teams for successful execution and delivery of projects.

  • Resolving technical and construction related problems as they arise.

  • The Senior Construction Engineer supports the project manager and oversees quality assurance and testing duties to verify permanent installations conform to the project design and specification.

You will have a background in:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering and Management, B.Sc. or equivalent

  • Licensed Professional Engineer in a Canadian province or ability to be

  • Minimum of 6 years of heavy civil construction or related field. Experience with Ground Improvement and/or Marine Construction is an asset.

  • Must be willing to travel within North America and work independently and remotely when required

  • Self-starter and with a willingness to learn and experience

  • Strong communication skills (written, verbal, and interpersonal)
