Golder has a new full-time opportunity for a SeniorRock Mechanics Engineer to join our GeotechnicalEngineering team based in Vancouver.

An overview of yourrole will include:

  • Managingor directing Client assignments

  • Providinggeotechnical engineering services for our clients with an emphasis on rockmechanics. Scope of services include: surface and underground projects, dams,tunnels, underground power houses, foundations, cut slopes, rock fall problems

  • Mentoringand coaching staff locally and globally

  • Undertakeand/or supervise desktop modelling

  • Contributeto business development and marketing

  • Understandand be a champion of our health and safety culture

  • Publishany new and innovative findings

You will have abackground in:

  • Undergraduateor Graduate degree in Geological, Civil or Mining Engineering

  • Atleast 10 years of industry or consulting engineering experience

  • Mustbe registered, or eligible to register as a professional engineer withEngineers and Geoscientists British Columbia

  • Experienceworking in a consulting engineering environment at a senior project managementlevel is desired

  • Experiencewith soil mechanics would be an asset

  • Strongpeople skills and an ability to work in a team environment

  • Willingnessto travel to Client sites, both nationally and internationally

  • Experiencewith Dips, RocData, Slide 2/Slide 3, RS2/RS3, RocFall, RocPlane, SWedge,UnWedge, Examine, RocSupport, UDEC or 3DEC is desirable
