Golder Associates Senior Underground Mine Engineer in VANCOUVER, British Columbia

Golder Associates is seeking a Senior (Principal Level) Underground Mining Engineer to join our community of high performing engineers, scientists, and business professionals in our Vancouver Office

As a Safety-conscious Professional, you will bring your technical and leadership strengths to helping us build our Mining Engineering Services and conduct a full range of Mine Engineering functions Including:

  • Lead all level of mine engineering studies (PEA, PFS, FS, DD)

  • Take a leadership role in growing our mining engineering team and services

  • Oversee mine design and layout for a variety of underground metal mining methods

  • Provide and review operating and capital cost estimation (developing first-principles cost models, cost benchmarking, conceptual cost estimating)

  • Review equipment selection and productivity calculations

  • Review ventilation design (knowledge of VentSim or equivalent software is an asset)

  • Preparation of reports including Technical Reports under NI 43-101, SEC S-K 1300, JORC or SAMREC regulations

  • Applying Golder's Project Management standards to manage all aspects of projects

  • Identifying, developing, and following through on new business opportunities

  • Contributions to proposal preparation and project budgeting

  • Using your client focus to develop and maintain exceptional relations with clients

  • Demonstrating a "Safety First" focus and act as a role model to staff

  • Utilizing your exceptional leadership skills to coach, mentor, and develop junior employees

  • Using your high standard of ethical behaviour to promote and support Golder's Core Values and Culture

As a key member of the Mining Engineering and Geology Group (MEG), you will possess the following qualifications:

  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Mine Engineering

  • Registered Professional Engineer

  • A minimum of 20 years relevant experience with an emphasis on underground metal mine planning, design, operations and scheduling

  • Experience as a consulting engineer, or a technical services role within a mining company

  • Previous experience managing projects

  • Success in both leading and participating in teams

  • Track record of delivery and client satisfaction

  • Extensive experience in utilizing appropriate mine planning, design and scheduling software packages

  • Fluent in English with fluency in other languages (e.g. French, Spanish, Portuguese) an asset
