Golder has a new opportunity for a “Mine Waste Group Leader” to join our growing team in México, on a full-time contract basis based in Hermosillo city,Sonora state, Mexico .

The Mine Waste Leader plays a key role in planning and running a sustainable business, developing clients and people, delivering projects with excellence, managing risks, promoting innovation, shaping a healthy, safe and respectful work culture and contributing directly to the overall success of the Mine Waste Business in México and in the region. The Group Leader is critical to the development and successful implementation of the strategy and business plans for Mine Waste; maintains active participation with clients and projects and is responsible for delivering the annual budget for the Group.

The Mine Waste Group Leader will be part of the team than runs the Mine Waste Division in Latin America, reports to the Mine Waste Division Leader and he/she is part of the Latin America Operations Leadership Team (LAOLT), engage with Principals, Associates and other senior leaders in the region and globally.

The Group Leader is responsible to manage the business risks, in terms of the assessment of the opportunities, conditions to execute the work and regular follow up on projects identifying any new risks or misalignment and implement effective corrective actions agreed with the relevant stakeholders.

An overview ofyour role will include:

  • Responsible for planning, budgeting and financialforecasting. Keep track and report on business profitability.

  • Ensure Golder´s Project Management standards andprocedures are followed.

  • Allocate Project Directors, Project Managers and resourcesfor projects under his/her Group, together with senior reviewers and responsible todevelop the strategy together with the Senior team.

  • Support Project Managers to ensure projects areadequately staffed. Manage resource utilization and workload (distributework/find work as needed) and project staffing.

  • Responsible to implement the company riskapproach, procedures and tools within the Group.

  • Working with the Division Leader to create ahiring plan that aligns with business needs.

  • Feed the business client relationships inresponse to client needs and market opportunities.

  • Conduct annual performance review andsalary/level review decisions.

  • Significant contributor to the achievement of theMine Waste Division Budget.

You will have abackground in:

  • Project Management and/or Engineering Management expertise15 years’ experience (as min) with significant focus on miningprojects/studies.

  • Civil Engineering with strong technicalbackground and experience related to Mine Waste (geotechnicalengineering). Additional studies related to Geotechnical and/or Tailings fieldwill be relevant.

  • Operational implementation of the project /commercial strategy within a group/business.

  • Demonstrated success in the consulting field,with the ability to build multidisciplinary teams, develop business, andprovide excellent client service

  • Full professional proficiency in English, withexcellent written and oral communication skills.
